PAG-IBIG FUND: SERENADE
What if life’s biggest financial decisions felt a little less scary?
Pag-IBIG Fund is the Philippines’ national savings and financing institution, helping millions of Filipinos save, borrow, and plan for the future.
Fittingly, its name, pag-ibig, is also the Filipino word for love.
We realized that the financial decisions people make with Pag-IBIG carry the same emotional weight as falling in love. Taking out a loan, buying a home, or planning for a family can feel just as exciting, terrifying, and life changing as saying yes to a future with someone.
So instead of speaking like a government institution, we used the Filipino tradition of harana (serenade) to reimagine Pag-IBIG as a suitor. We replaced bureaucratic reminders with one of the country’s most deeply rooted traditions of courtship, turning routine messages about savings, loans, and financial planning into catchy serenades that felt culturally familiar, entertaining, and emotionally resonant.
The result was a 360 campaign platform built around a couple’s journey through the different stages of love, from courtship and marriage to starting a family. Each chapter was paired with a different Pag-IBIG service, from taking out a loan and upgrading savings to eventually owning a home, allowing the brand to grow alongside the lives of the people it serves. The platform rolled out across a three part TVC series, print, social, and digital.
I developed the campaign concept alongside our Creative Director and remained hands on from idea to final delivery, leading storyboarding, co writing the TVC series, and overseeing the creative through pre production, production, and post production across the entire campaign.
The campaign was recognized by leadership as BBDO Guerrero’s Best Creative Ideas.
