LEGO® CONTRIBUTIONS: Graphics & Minifigure Design

Ever wonder how powerful a kid’s dream can be?

As a designer at the LEGO Group, I contributed to several official LEGO® City sets, focusing on printed elements and minifigure graphics.
I worked closely with LEGO engineers and fellow designers to ensure every graphic, no matter how small, was optimized for production, met printing standards, and felt fun and authentic for the kids and fans who would build and play with the sets.

Funny thing is, I never really had a LEGO set growing up. Truth is, we just couldn’t afford one. So getting the chance to work with LEGO later in life felt surreal—almost magical. It was one of those moments that reminded me just how far creativity can and will take you.

Designing for LEGO taught me a lot about craft and the importance of caring for the smallest details. Learning to balance creativity with production constraints continues to shape how I approach my work today, especially in projects like brand identity. It also reminded me to find inspiration in the little things—some of the original minifigures I designed were based on my own family members.

More than anything, LEGO taught me how to design for people. It made me ask simple but important questions like how might a five-year-old play with this? Questions like that challenged me to think deeper and become a more intentional and thoughtful designer.

I’ll always be grateful to the LEGO Group and the LEGO® City team for letting me be part of something so special.
